Parish OrganizationsChair Exercise GroupOn Tuesday and Thursday mornings of each week, a group of our seniors attend chair exercise classes. They take part in stretching, muscle toning and strengthening exercises designed specifically for the mature physique. They learn proper breathing techniques to use while exercising and learn the proper use of hand held weights to get the most benefit from their routines. They exercise to uplifting music. Episcopal Church Women The goal of the Episcopal Church Women (ECW), known as the Women’s Auxiliary until 1985, is to carry on the work of Christ in the church and the community through prayer, service and leadership. Some ECW activities include support for the Episcopal Center for Children; donating school supplies, clothing, art and music supplies to community schools; reaching out to the sick and shut-in with visits, cards and calls; and sponsoring an annual tea, Women’s Day, and a biennial women’s luncheon. Men’s ClubThe Men’s Club is dedicated to serving the church by enhancing the spiritual life of the church; donating the time and money required to fulfill needed projects; and providing activities and programs for young people in the church and the community. A prime example is the "Men and Boy's Outreach Program" where club members put the time and effort in a program that has touched the lives of young boys whom they feel may benefit from positive activities and experiences presented to them. These activities include educational, cultural, and recreational experiences. The Men’s Club, also known for the culinary abilities of its members, has established a Catering Committee that is available to cater special services and other church events. St. Ann’s Chapter, Order of the Daughters of the KingThe mission of St. Ann’s Chapter is to support the rules and vision of the National Order of the Daughters of the King, a lay religious order of women and girls of the Episcopal Church. The Daughters work to extend Christ’s Kingdom through prayer, services and personal evangelism in the church and in local, national and international communities. Welcoming CommitteeThe Welcoming Committee works to improve and enrich congregational life at Atonement. Visitors are greeted, welcomed and sent follow-up notes. A visitor database for special church mailings is maintained and new homeowners in the community are sent welcome and invitational notes. Care packages are sent to Atonement college students. Special public recognition is extended to new members of the Atonement congregation. Stewardship CommitteeThe Stewardship Committee endeavors to help each parishioner recognize stewardship as a way of Christian living. The focus of the committee is to help each person find ways to thank God for His many, varied gifts. |
