From The Rector

“Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.”

Dear People of God,

This is an exciting time of the year: new life begins to bloom all around us while the days become longer with the darkness of night becoming shorter. Isn't that what Jesus has done in our lives? When He came into our lives at Salvation, the darkness had to flee so that new life and light could enter! The Bible says in 1 John 5:11-12, And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. While you and I both know there is no way we can ever "pay Him back" for what He did for us at Calvary, we can certainly do our best to offer our lives to Him with the recognition that whatever we have and whoever we are should be a reflection of Jesus Christ and the new life He has given to us.

The old song, "Give me that old time religion, it's good enough for me…" reminds me and many others that our foundations, from wherever they may have come, are the roots of who and what we are as we celebrate, preach, witness, and go out as disciples of Christ. Many of us have let our roots down, seeking and searching for something else when all along tradition, scripture and reason which we did not understand were in front of us. We now have taken on the life of today, sitting in churches that are dead to the Word, the Voice, the Spirit, the Love, the way, the truth and life of Jesus.

I am all for whatever means necessary to reach people of God. It is time for an Episcopal explosion. As for me and the house of which I am called to serve, we will praise the Lord! Atonement, let us continue to praise God from whom all blessings flow. Let us continue to serve him with heart, mind and soul. Let us look to God to keep us grounded and rooted in the teachings of the scripture.

During the summer months, I ask that you keep the church in your prayers. Pray for each other and most especially, keep connected to Jesus Christ our Savior. Praise God!!!!!!!

Blessings in Christ,

Your Pastor
