Youth
Sunday School
All children and youth attending Atonement are invited
to participate in the Youth Sunday School. The Youth Sunday School meets
every Sunday from 10:00-11:00am beginning the 2nd Sunday in September
through the 2nd Sunday in June of each year. The goal of the Youth Sunday
School is to support the family in the religious and spiritual growth
of their children through instruction and related activities that capture
the interests of the youth. Special activities generally are related to
the church season. Members of the Youth Sunday School classes are participating
in the Changing My World service ministry, as well as preparing
for Youth Sunday in June.
Changing
My World
Changing
My World is a service ministry of the youth of Atonement. This service
ministry currently is in its formative stages. Through Changing My
World, the youth of Atonement will establish an on-going charitable
fund that is funded primarily through their donations and contributions.
They will use the monetary gifts to support the efforts of local and international
projects throughout the calendar year. As a result, the youth will be
able to witness the fruits of giving by participating in charitable events
that they have chosen.
The objectives are of the ministry are:
- to encourage
the youth to incorporate charity and philanthropy in their lives;
- to instill
in the youth the understanding of charity and a compassion for giving;
- to empower
the youth by fostering the belief that they can be positive change agents
in their community and in the world.
All Atonement young people through age 18 are encouraged to participate.
“He
who oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker,
but
whoever is kind to the needy honors God.”
(Proverbs
14:31)
Praise Dancers
This is the second year for our Praise Dancers, through
whom dance is used to praise and worship God. The Praise Dancers expand
the congregation’s worship experience and relationship with God.
Six of our youth, ages 4-15 years, offer their time and talent to heighten
the worship experience at Atonement.
